Carey Moorman is Concertmaster of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra. He also performs regularly with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and Atlantic Classical Orchestra. Moorman also served for years as the Principal Second Violin for the Brevard Symphony Orchestra. Moorman has been the Associate Concertmaster for the Pine Bluff Symphony and the Fort Smith Symphony as well as Principal Second Violinist with the Conway Symphony. He was previously a Tenured Violinist with the Arkansas Symphony and performed with the Pinnacle Players Chamber Orchestra and the Wildwood Opera Festival.
Moorman has several solo Concerto performances on violin and viola with Orchestra to his credit as well, including several performances with the Space Coast Symphony. His chamber collaborations both (violin and viola) include Scott Kluksdahl, J.T. Posadas, Michael Wiseman, Ayako Yonetani, Bharat Chandra, Phil Paglialonga, Daniel Askerov, and many others. Moorman was the 1st prize winner in the Stella Boyle Smith Young Artist Competition and the Little Rock Music Coterie Competition.
He has performed in masterclasses for Jonathan Carney. Moorman studied with Professor Kevork Mardirossian at the University of Central Arkansas and earned his degree in Music Performance. He has been First violinist with Encore String Quartet, Pinnacle String Quartet, and the Falstaff String Quartet. Moorman also has taught multiple violin clinics for the Pine Bluff Orchestra Workshop, coached musicians for the Brevard Chamber Music Seminar, and judged Concerto Competitions throughout Florida.
Dr Anna M.K., Ph.D., M. Mus., B. Ed., Dip Teach. A.Mus.A (flute) has taught and directed music programs with children from K-year 12 for more than 40 years at a variety of schools both in Australia and abroad. She tutored aural musicianship at Melbourne University for five years.
Dr Anna has been invited to adjudicate at many music eisteddfods. She has presented lectures, papers, posters and workshops at conferences, universities, schools and preschools. She is excited to share the results of her PHD work, her Contour Vocal Play Framework as she strives to introduce vocal process to create sustainable pedagogically based pathways for the development of music inclusivity and vocal agency for early childhood educators and children.
Dr Anna currently lectures at Deakin University, Melbourne, as part of the performing Arts team, training teachers in early childhood music in both the graduate and post programs. She was a recipient of the 2024 prize for innovation in music education, bestowed by the Kodaly Music Education Association of Australia. Anna has more than a dozen publications, for teachers, students and children. In 2024, published three of her children's song stories in beautifully illustrated book form with the music available online, The Little Red Hen, Over In The Garden and The Gingerbread Man.
Loo Bang Hean has made regular appearances in solo recitals, chamber concerts as well as concerto performances. He has appeared in most major concert venues in Malaysia and has been featured as a soloist with various local orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO). An active chamber musician, he collaborates frequently with various instrumentalists and vocalists and has been a frequent guest pianist at the MPO chamber concert series. Bang Hean has performed abroad in countries such as England, Italy, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Cambodia and Korea.
Bang Hean is an adjunct lecturer at the Institute of Music, UCSI University and has frequently been invited to adjudicate, examine, and conduct masterclasses both locally and abroad. His students have frequently won prizes and scholarships both locally and internationally, and many of them have gone on to embark on successful music careers. As an educator and presenter, Bang Hean has been invited to present extensively for the ABRSM examination board, with seminar tours bringing him to various parts of Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Middle East and India. In 2020 he recorded teaching videos featuring 108 exam pieces (2021-2022) for ABRSM’s webinar series, viewed by teachers all around the world. He is regularly invited to conduct seminars on various pedagogical and pianistic topics around Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and China.
Dr Esther Shin Chuang, an award-winning pianist, has given concerts on four continents: North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. She has performed in numerous prestigious venues around the world including St. Gile’s Cathedral (Scotland), Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center (U.S.), and Carnegie Hall (U.S.). She played in the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series at the Chicago Cultural Center, hosted by the International Music Foundation and broadcasted live by 98.7 WFMT. She is the winner of many competitions including the Jan and Beattie Wood Concerto Competition, Zimmerli Foundation's 11th BMC Piano Competition, 19th International Young Artist Competition, Associated Teachers of Music League Young Artist Competition, Baltimore Music Club Competition, and Manchester Young Artist Competition. She has also been the artistic director of concerts and performances in the U.S., Malaysia, and other countries, creating innovative, multi-sensory concerts.
Dr. Chuang studied as a scholarship student in the Pre-College Division of The Juilliard School in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, U.S.) and Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Manhattan School of Music (New York, U.S.). She earned her Doctor of Worship Studies at Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (Jacksonville, U.S.).
Jerome Quah, performer, instructor and music director is a classically trained pianist and holds a B.A. (Hons) in music and political science from University Science of Malaysia (USM) as well as a Performer’s Diploma (LTCL) from Trinity College of London.
His interest in music can be traced to his early days in the Penang Free School Band. He started as a trumpeter and switched to euphonium in 1984. He was also the Euphonium Section Leader. During his university days, he was a member of the USM Jazz Band. He was then the pianist for the USM Jazz Band and he was later appointed as the tutor and assistant conductor for USM Jazz Band.
Jerome has been very active in the area of jazz. He was instrumental in the formation of the Penang Philharmonic Big Band. Under his baton, the Penang Philharmonic Big Band has performed in numerous international jazz festivals in the region: Penang Island International Jazz Festival 2015, Samila Jazz Festival 2017 (Thailand), KL International Jazz Festival 2017.
Currently, Jerome is the chairman of the Penang Jazz Society and he serves as the music director for the society’s jazz ensemble programs. He directs both the Big Band of Penang & Youth Big Band of Penang in major jazz festivals in Thailand and Taiwan.
Simon Soh is a teacher, pianist, accompanist, author, clinician, adjudicator, and editor. He is the Director and Principal of Sinfonia Music Studio in Singapore, which was founded in 2003. He has been the consultant of Forte Academy of Music in JB, Malaysia since 2008. Recently, he has been appointed as the Principal of Emmanuel Music School in Bedok. His sole duties will be to train the teachers in pedagogy and to organize music activities for all schools under one umbrella.
As a performer, he was invited to play with the Singapore Wind Symphony in 1995. He was also the accompanist for the Afterglow Singers in Philippines in the nineties, and recorded several CDs in collaboration. As a pedagogue, he is a constantly sought after teacher and speaker in Singapore, Malaysia and China. He conducts music workshops, masterclasses and seminars regularly in Singapore and Malaysia.
In his thirty years of teaching career, he has nurtured many outstanding students who are now either teachers or music authors in Singapore and Malaysia. Many of his students attained high distinctions in the ABRSM and the Trinity College exams. Several of his students are also winners in the international piano competitions.
As an adjudicator, he is frequently invited to judge in many local and overseas piano competitions and festivals. Simon Soh is also the author of 'Progressive Sight Reading'. He is also the editor of 'A Comprehensive Guide to Music Theory'. by Sean Teo and Toh Xin Zhan. Currently, Simon Soh is writing a book on 'The Art of Fingering'. Most recently, he was appointed as a tutor for the Bachelor of Music Online Degree Program by the Australian Guild of Music Education.
Isaac Moorman currently serves as Assistant Principal Cellist for the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra since 2022. He also performs as Principal Cellist for the Space Coast Symphony and the Riverside Chamber Orchestra. He has performed twice as a soloist with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, as well as with the Melbourne Municipal Band and the Central Florida Winds. Isaac has given solo performances at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and in 2019, he received 1st prize in the Brevard’s “Got Music” Talent Competition in Melbourne, Florida.
In addition to his performing activities, Isaac is the teaching assistant for Joseph Johnson at the Eastman School of Music in pursuit of his doctorate. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky School of Music where he completed a double major in Cello Performance and Piano Performance with highest honors in just three years. Subsequently, Isaac received his master’s degree at Eastman as the teaching assistant for Guy Johnston.
Isaac performed in masterclasses for artists including Richard Aaron, David Ying, Helga Winold, the Pacifica Quartet, Matt Haimovitz, Yibing Chu, and Gary Hoffman. He has attended festivals such as the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival, the Eastman Summer Cello Workshop, and the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. During his time at the University of Kentucky, Isaac worked in the piano and cello studios of Dr. Jacob Coleman and Benjamin Karp, respectively. Most recently, Isaac has been appointed as Adjunct Cello Faculty at Rollins College in Orlando, FL.
Mary Doreen Jackson is a highly experienced and versatile musician who has made significant contributions to the music industry both locally and internationally. With over 35 years of experience, she is renowned for her exceptional talent as a vocalist, pianist, and organist.
Mary has many titles to her credit as a well known vocalist/musician in the Klang Valley circuit. She formed and managed many bands in the entertainment industry: Secrets, Mix & Match, Majapahit, Mystique, Serenity, Bloody Mary and current, Proud Mary. She also collaborated with local renown bands such as Freedom, Artstream and Infuze.
Mary is a gifted singer who sings effortlessly plus her ability to sing in various languages, genres and styles has earned her kudos. She has thrilled audiences with her selection of songs and sense of showmanship at all the places that she has sung. She has performed at renown hotels in the Klang Valley such as The Hilton, The Shangri-La, The Istana, The Pan Pacific, just to name a few. Mary has showcased her musical skills in numerous concerts and events, establishing herself as a dedicated and accomplished artist.
Mary’s passion for music and her ability to adapt to various styles have made her a sought-after performer and a respected figure in the music industry. She continues to inspire audiences with her artistry and dedication to her craft.
Kent Goh, a native of Penang, Malaysia, embarked on his educational journey at the University of Queensland in Australia, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music and Education.
During his time at the university, Kent specialised in classical piano while also exploring various wind and brass instruments. He further honed his musical talents as a member of the University Big Band, showcasing his skills on the saxophone during frequent tours.
Upon returning to Malaysia, Kent became an active member of the KLPAC orchestra, participating in numerous performances and events. Throughout his teaching career, Kent has shared his expertise in piano, ensemble, band, and orchestra.
Kent’s dedication to the performing arts extends beyond the classroom. He has orchestrated concerts, productions, and musicals, demonstrating his commitment to fostering a love for performance among students. He is passionate about nurturing students’ growth and confidence on stage, emphasising the development of character, confidence, and respect among both staff and students.
Carolyn Lo was offered a full graduate assistantship from Miami University, Ohio to pursue a Masters in Piano Performance and graduated in 2011. She also holds the LRSM and FTCL performance diplomas with distinction, as well as a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Newcastle, Australia. In 2015, she became the first Malaysian to be awarded the FRSM in piano performance with a distinction.
Having won awards and prizes locally and internationally, she has since performed both as a soloist and a collaborative pianist in music festivals, recitals and competitions in the USA, Austria, Taiwan, Korea, Macau, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. She has been featured as a concerto soloist a number of times, working with various orchestras in Malaysia.
Carolyn has given masterclasses both in her home country as well as overseas. She taught solo piano and chamber ensembles at universities, and is currently an adjunct lecturer at the Institute of Music, UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur. She also has a private piano studio where she enjoys working with students of a wide range of ages and levels. Over the years, many of her students have obtained scholarships to prestigious universities overseas as well as won prizes in local and international competitions and festivals.
Besides teaching, Carolyn is a well sought-after adjudicator, and has been invited to adjudicate in many competitions and festivals both in Malaysia as well as overseas. She has also conducted teachers’ training workshops and music camps, and in 2019 she was invited to present at the ABRSM Music Teachers Conference in Kuala Lumpur. She is currently an examiner for ABRSM.
MinRi, a professional singer specializing in Japanese and Anime songs, has been captivating audiences with her powerful vocal performances since 2016. As the lead vocalist of the local Jrock band, Higashi Kitty Band, she has made a significant impact on the Japanese music scene, both in Malaysia and internationally. Her passion for Japanese music extends beyond her band performances, as she is also a dedicated cover singer.
MinRi has frequently graced various ACG (Anime, Comic, Gaming) and Japanese cultural events, showcasing her love for Japanese music and bringing fans closer to the heart of anime culture. Whether performing live on stage or recording, MinRi continues to inspire fans with her dynamic voice and unwavering enthusiasm for all things related to Japan’s rich musical heritage. Through her performances, she bridges the gap between Japanese music and international audiences, earning a loyal fanbase that appreciates her dedication and skill.
